Oh, no! Not another review outlet.
Yeah, we know. But DoomRocket is hardly new — we’re just new to you! We’ve been operating off and on since 2013, covering comics, movies, TV, and other stuff under the stern gaze of editor and critic Jarrod Jones. If you’re looking for thoughtful criticism that remembers to have a sense of humor, you’ve come to the right place. Hang out for a spell! Cream sodas in the fridge.
What does DoomRocket offer that other review sites don’t?
To be blunt — nothing. We’re not here to reinvent the wheel, but we have things to say about pop culture and we want to share them with cool folks like yourself. Consider us the cul-de-sac in a loud, crowded block party, where people go to collect their thoughts and have a conversation with interesting folks instead of hollering to be heard over the din of meme-chatter and hype nonsense.
What happens if I subscribe?
Naught but good things. More specifically, you’ll receive a steady drip-feed of our opinions and criticisms concerning a broad range of comics, movies, TV, and any other fun stuff we choose to write about. (While we’ll try not to spam you with our work, just know that we may post up to three times a week.) Sometimes, we’ll review the latest new theatrical release; sometimes, we’ll go on at length about an obscure comic mini-series from 1983 or whenever. Anything goes. If you enjoy our stuff? We hope you’ll tell your friends. And if you don’t? No hard feelings — feel free to unsub any ol’ time.

What about the old DoomRocket?
It’s still around! For more ancient DR features and reviews (and podcast episodes), click this.
What does “DoomRocket” mean, anyway?
It’s a two-word fusion of our editor’s favorite comic book things: Doctor Doom and Love & Rockets. The name has no association with Warhammer 40k, though we hear Henry Cavill loves that game and odds are he may have clicked on our site at least once completely by accident before never doing it again. (Probably not — but also maybe!)
Do I need to give you money, too? Well??
You don’t! But if you like what we do and want to support independent criticism, Substack has made it easier than ever to throw a buck or two our way. Busker Critics, that’s DoomRocket!
